Positive Affirmation Practice – How To Practice Positive Thinking

Posted on January 18, 2011

Daily positive affirmations have become popular these days as a great tool in realizing desires in life, reaching goals and in reprogramming the mind by changing negative thoughts to positive ones.

Indeed, one of the many hindrances we have that prevent us from achieving what we want in life is our being negative about so many things in life – we don’t trust ourselves, we think negatively of the task at hand even without trying it first and the many negative attitude we have towards others.

Of course, our thoughts play a very important part in our daily living. Our actions spring from our thoughts and if we want to reach our goals, if we want happiness and success, we need to look at our thoughts and try to reprogram them even the subconscious ones. One way we can do this is through daily positive affirmations.

Positive affirmations are short statements that assert the positive truth about you or about something and change the way you think and feel that will eventually become the foundation of your attitude and actions.

Write positive affirmations to yourself and keep them. Positive affirmations are powerful positive thinking tips that you can adopt in your life. You can write them into a paper and keep them. For some, you can watch it on video every morning or you can tell it to yourself every time you wake up. This way, you are overpowering and slowly eliminating the many negative thoughts that have been buried in your subconscious for many years.

Positive Affirmations

Posted on January 15, 2011

Affirmations are extremely powerful; they are great tools that can help you to build your confidence, to develop a positive optimistic attitude; to change unwanted beliefs and patterns with the new chosen ones, to attract into your life what you want. Positive affirmations can help to manage stress. They act as reprogramming software for the mind.

Affirmations are positive sentences that you write and then repeat many times. Think about all areas in your life in which you want to make a change. You might want to improve your relationships or your health or you might want to lose weight. Affirmations are a good starting point for success along with other great tools.

Create a list of positive affirmations that describe a desired situation and related to your problems. It’s better to use short statements that easy to remember. Always use positive words. Let your positive affirmations be simple and straight. Affirmations should be stated in the present (rather than future) tense.

You may repeat affirmations at any time you want or at special set times during the day: you can start your day in front of a mirror saying affirmations, your normal routine, just before you fall asleep etc. Combine visualization of the best possible outcome of your problem with your positive affirmations.

Here are some examples of simple positive affirmations:

I enjoy being healthy.

I choose to be slim and healthy.

I now weigh X pounds (your desired weight).

I accept myself.

I choose to be positive.

I’m feeling happy today.

I am financially secure.

I release all fear from my life.

Everything I do turns into success.

I am attracting positive people into my life.

Start using positive affirmations today to ensure success in all areas of your life: money, work, relationships and more.

To your success,

Why Positive Affirmations?

Posted on January 12, 2011

Positive affirmations are powerful tools to help you manifest what you desire into your life. Everything that exists is made up of energy in the form of radiating wavelengths. The denser the form, a rock for example, the lower the energy levels, at the other end of the spectrum there exists things that have high levels of energy. These high energy level forms are things like light, colors, and thoughts.

Yes, thoughts!

Have you ever had a day off work and did a lot of thinking, and then found at the end of the day you was exhausted? On a day you hoped was for rest, it tired you out just by thinking.

So if you ever needed confirmation that thoughts were powerful, then they can tire you out. If we flipped that scenario slightly, if thoughts can reduce your energy, we must therefore have thoughts that can fill you with energy.

Expanding on that theory that thoughts give us energy, we must consider what out thoughts can project onto others. If we are sad for example and enter a room with happy people, we can sometimes see their happiness subside as my sadness energy over powers their happiness energy. That can also work the other way. Should I walk into a room bounding with happiness the other people’s energy may try to over power mine but invariably if the energy is positive, my happiness will flow through the room.

So if we can see first that thoughts alone are powerful, we can begin to understand where affirmations sit into this system of using energy to empower our life.

Thoughts, when focused on and combined with passion, in time, are manifested into reality. That is the power of positive affirmation, it is the repeated reading of a statement or thought that gets into the sub-conscious mind and radiates from us to attract the necessary means to bring forth that thought into reality.

Affirmations are simply statements that we make to ourselves; it’s our self-talk. You use affirmations all the time, whether you’re doing so intentionally or unintentionally.

Successful people think successful thoughts. They know that entertaining thoughts of failure and defeat is a waste of time. Successful people think of future possibilities, not of past set backs.

Many people think that the way you change your life is by changing your thinking. Many people instead think that once they get the success that they desire, then will be able to be positive and think thoughts of success.

Affirming positive thoughts using positive affirmations dramatically improves life outcomes. Think negative and your life will be negative. Think positive and your life will be a success.

Affirmations help to print within your sub-conscious mind that positive is better than negative.

This link between attitude and outcome is well supported by medical and scientific research. Affirmations are not just a fad, but supported by scientific research.

It does not matter which aspect of life you choose to examine, health, relationships, prosperity, a positive attitude is a key factor in success. “I have done great work today that will advance my career” – not “I hope I get something right today otherwise I’ll lose my job”

Why Saying Positive Affirmations Can be a Business Liability

Posted on January 9, 2011

Ever wonder what’s wrong with the touchy-feely advice that’s so popular now-a-days telling people to stay positive, say affirmations, and just think good thoughts?

Ever wonder why people aren’t seeing much success by doing these things?

Answer: Because they are using positive affirmations incorrectly and using them incorrectly is a detriment.

Three Guidelines for using Positive Affirmations Correctly

1. Stop looking for the one thing that will make the difference. There is no one thing.

Positive affirmations are like the chocolate chips in a delicious chocolate chip cookie. If I asked you what made your chocolate chips cookies taste so good and you said, “Ghirardelli semi-sweet chocolate chips are the key,” I would say, “ah-ha” and run right out and purchase those specific chips thinking they would be what I needed to make a delicious chocolate chip cookie.

This is one of the things people do wrong when it comes to saying and using affirmations. They are looking for the one thing that will make the difference to their business success. And by doing so, they focus on the one to the exclusion of the all.

2. Don’t be so far out with your affirmations.

The mind does not value what it hasn’t invested in. Said another way, the mind does not invest in what it does not know. One of the common mistakes of saying positive affirmations is intending them too far into the future, too far ahead of your current business situation. Repeating, “I own a million-dollar business” isn’t likely to create that business for you when you are barely making ends meet. The difference between what the mind currently sees and the intended affirmation is just too far apart.

Instead, focus your intentions no farther than your mind registers as possible to achieve. Next, align your actions with the fulfillment of your vision and add positive affirmations in support of that direction. Then, your mind will register that as something that is attainable and invest in it.

3. Be on the look out for hidden hope.

Hope is just a nice way of saying that you’re not sure something is going to happen, but you sure wish is would. Affirmations that hold the energy of wish are really negative affirmations in disguise. Hope is not the same as knowing, without a doubt, that what you intend is going to happen. Fervently repeating affirmations that hold the energy of hidden hope will not help bring what you intend any closer, any sooner.

There isn’t much room for hope when planning a business formula for success. Running a business takes a lot of thoughtful, consideration. It involves some very clear, concise, left-brain thinking. It also requires the ability to envision the kind of success you want for your business. That’s where positive affirmations can come in. Done correctly and with care, positive affirmations can be a valuable ingredient for your business success. You’ll soon be on you way to using affirmations correctly and turning them from a business liability into a business asset, by following these guidelines.

Positive Affirmations – Attract More Success and Maintain an Optimistic Attitude

Posted on January 5, 2011

Positive affirmations may not be something you have given much thought to in the past. But, whenever you think, you are affirming! Whenever you listening to your inner self talk you are affirming!

On a daily, even hourly basis, you are continually affirming to your subconscious thoughts that will eventually become your beliefs. Your subconscious mind has taken these beliefs, ever since your childhood days, and developed them into the person you are today!

Working on autopilot, your subconscious will react to any given situation in accordance to how it has been programmed by your thoughts and beliefs. In other words your affirmations. This can of course be very usefull, you don’t need to constantly stick your hand in a fire to know you will get burnt. You learnt this early on and your subconscious stored this information, so you don’t have to keep re-learning it.

That’s all very well and good! But, what about other bits of information your subconscious stored that are no longer in your best interest. You may have programmed your subconscious with information that is actually working against you now! Beliefs relating to money, health, your self esteem etc.

Is there a way to reprogramme your subconscious? In a word, yes! Positive affirmations is a simple process that can be quickly and easily learnt, in fact we probably all know at least one positive affirmation that has been around for decades.

“Every day in every way I am getting better and better.” Remember that one? It’s ages old but sums up what a positive affirmation is.

So what is a Positive Affirmation?

Affirmations are short positive statement used to rewrite, or reprogramme, your subconscious mind to overcome a negative area of your life.

For example, let’s say you have make a presentation to some collegues at work. The more you think about it the more nervous you become. You can actually feel the palms of your hands getting hot and sweaty from just thinking of standing in front of your workmates. What you want, is to confidently make a fantastic presentation, getting your points over in a clear and professional manner.

But, all you can think about is how awkward you will feel, how flustered and confused you will be, and how you’ll make a complete mess of the whole thing. And, if that’s what you’re thinking, and keep thinking it, that’s exactly what will happen! But, to overcome this you can make an affirmation of how you want the presentation to be. Something like this!

“I am full of confidence, I speak clearly, my presentation is a huge success!”

Now you are affirming how you want the situation to be. For this to really take effect you have to repeat the affirmation over and over again as often as you can.

Repetition is the key to success where positive affirmations are concerned.

Positive Affirmations For Self-Esteem: 3 Powerful Affirmations To Boost Your Confidence

Posted on January 2, 2011

Using positive affirmations for self-esteem is a great exercise for self-development. Words always have a powerful effect on people. They can help you achieve your goals and can bring you massive success.

If you’re suffering from low confidence, why don’t you try some of these positive affirmations for self-esteem? You’ve got nothing to lose and everything to gain, right?

Positive Affirmation # 1 For Self-Esteem: “I deserve to be happy and successful.”

Let’s start with the “I deserve” line. A lot of people actually have a lot of self-loathing. They feel like they don’t deserve the good things that happen in their life.

One person can say that he doesn’t deserve to be promoted because he’s crap at his job. A wife can say that she doesn’t deserve her husband because she’s not good enough to be married to such a wonderful guy. A little girl can say that she doesn’t deserve to have cake because she’s gained weight over the summer.

Everyone more or less feels like they don’t deserve to be happy and successful. Wrong! Everyone does deserve to live a good life.

Post this affirmation on your wall and read it aloud everyday. Or write it down on your journal every single day. Do this dutifully and you will get the happy and successful life that you deserve!

Positive Affirmation # 2 For Self-Esteem: “I can make my own decisions.”

This statement empowers you to take charge of your own life. Nobody else can make you do anything you don’t want to do. Nobody else can make you think what you don’t want to think.

Your life is in your hands. If you feel powerless now, write this affirmation down and concentrate on its meaning. Pretty soon, you’ll be able to get your life back and make your own decisions!

Positive Affirmation # 3 For Self-Esteem: “I am open to change.”

This affirmation might only be composed of a few words, but it has great power behind it. Telling yourself that you are open to change allows the universe to bestow upon you many great and wonderful opportunities. By telling yourself that you are open to change, you’re allowing yourself to grow.

There are many positive affirmations for self-esteem out there that can help you overcome your personal limits. While there is no set code, these three should help you get started. Simply keep in mind that you deserve happiness, that you can make your own decisions and that you’re open to change.

Daily Positive Affirmations – Short Guide

Posted on December 30, 2010

Daily positive affirmations can really boost up your day. It does not matter what subject you are working on. A good correctly used list of positive affirmations can bring you from a very negative state into the abundance wealth and self esteem you always wanted.

I write my own affirmations I find that no list written by other people can help me as much as my own written ones. The reason is that no one knows you better than yourself. Downloading some list can give you some good ideas, but when it comes to the work itself nothing is more effective than self written materials.

When using daily positive affirmations I advise to work with a professional system that can guide on how to practice your daily routine. Without daily persistent practice you will not turn the affirmations into a habit and the results will be minimal at best.

How to use your daily positive affirmations:

Step 1: choose three positive affirmations that you most want to work on.

Step 2: Clear half an hour every day for practice purposes. I also advise to practice at the same hour but that is more optional.

Step 3: Spend five minutes clearing your mind and relaxing. If you know how to meditate it can be very helpful. But breathing deeply and slowly five minutes can also do the trick.

Step 4: read you first chosen affirmation quietly to yourself and try to visualize how it feels to already have what is written. Ponder it and really give it all you have for about ten minutes. Once you have finished move on to the next two positive sentences and repeat the process.

Step 5: when you have finished going over the three, just move on with your day and let the whole thing until you return to it the next day.

This is a very simple yet powerful process to do. If you practice it every day, within thirty days you will start seeing positive changes regarding the subjects you are working on.

Daily positive affirmations are a great tool to turn into a habit. It is a very effective personal development tool which I suggest to my clientele.

I do advise people new to the subject of daily positive affirmations to seek professional help. There are many wonderful systems and workbooks that can boost your work and give you faster results.

Will Positive Affirmations Help You Get What You Want?

Posted on December 29, 2010

If you have ever read any self help literature, then you have probably come across the idea that you can make serious changes to your life and to your attitude through the use of positive affirmations. A lot of people actually look at positive affirmations almost like they were some sort of magic pill. While it’s true that they can help you to make significant changes in your life and start to get the things that you really want, there are some things that you should know.

You don’t want to get caught up in the thinking that just with a few simple affirmations, you will become the next Bill Gates. After all, without the skills and talent in place, the affirmations will not be able to manifest miracles in your life. Be careful when using positive affirmations that you don’t forget that you still have to do some of the leg work to make the things that you want manifest themselves.

What should you know about positive affirmations and how to use affirmations to get what you want in life?

1. You have to make your affirmation to be as short and sweet as possible. Over complicating an affirmative phrase or statement is an easy way to trip yourself up and take away some of the effectiveness that an affirmation does have over your life. The more simple and easy to remember that your phrase is, the more effective it will be to help you create change in your life.

2. Repetition is an absolute MUST to make your affirmations work. If you think that by reciting an affirmative statement only a couple of times, you are going to be able to effect incredible changes in your life, then think again! I know the temptation is there to want a quick fix, but you have to put in as much time and practice as you can. This means that you must recite them as often as possible if you want to see real changes in your life.

3. You have to really BELIEVE in your affirmation. If you have any doubts about what you can really do and what you can really achieve, then that is going to get in the way of what it is that you are trying to affirm in your life. For example, if you want to use an affirmation to make more money, and you really don’t believe that you can do this, then you probably are not going to see much change at all.
